SABM MENGUTUK KOMEN RASIS OLEH PENGETUA SEKOLAH

Statement in English:

SABM CONDEMNS ALLEGED ‘RACIST’ REMARKS BY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

1. We are outraged by the alleged ‘racist remarks’ made by the Principal of Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra in Kulai, Johor.

2. We are appalled that such venomous bigotry has emanated from an educator entrusted with shaping the character of our Anak Bangsa Malaysia. It is equally distressing to note that she is the head of the school that carries the name of our beloved Bapa Malaysia!

3. We are saddened that the alleged remarks, if proven true, goes against the very precepts of the Rukunegara that generations of school children have religiously recited for the past 40 years.

4. We condemn the initial cavalier response of the Ministry of Education in representing the alleged incident as a ‘misunderstanding’ arising from ‘miscommunication.’

5. We note that after widespread public outcry the Ministry has now established a Task Force to investigate the incident.

6. We welcome this move and hope that the Task Force will conduct a full, fair and transparent investigation and the report will be made public. We call upon the Government to take expeditious action in implementing the recommendations of the said Task Force.

7. We call upon all Malaysians to send a clear and unequivocal message that we as a civilised society will not condone any form of racism, which seems to have reared its ugly head in recent times in our beloved land.

We all know this song, it pops out every now and again. Now they have the infamous Perkasa refraining it...

Hope the probe will cast its net wider..to trap like remarks. Not just in schools.

What is dangerously glaring, is that the racial venom has spread to the schools, the child's first place of awakening to a so called country that is touting itself, as being "Malaysia, truly asia"

Stop the whole lot of superficial sloganeering....they don't mean a thing.

The school is an extention of your own home. In the old school assemblies, children were reminded by their school heads, about community values.friendliness, kindness, love of neighbour as yourself..actually a reinforcement of what your own parents taught at home.

SABM.... sell more RACISM t-shirts...
