Perhaps the truth didn't go up in flames altogether. On July 20 this year, Teoh Beng Hock was buried at the Nirvana Memorial Park in a shroud of mystery and frustration. Three months later, his family is now said to be mulling the possibility of exhuming his body in the request for another post-mortem.

It is likely somebody caused Teoh Beng Hock's death, said an independent expert. For the first time since the Coroner's Court started, an expert spoke unreservedly on the high odds of homicide being the case of the 30-year-old's death. Thai pathologist Dr Porntip Rojanasunand said there is an 80 percent probability of a homicide.

More interestingly, Dr Porntip revealed findings that were never mentioned by the two local-based pathologists, although her inferences were fully drawn from the reports of those two experts. She added: "In my work I have to care for the rights of the dead."

The reknowned forensics expert has offered to do the post-mortem.
