I took this photo while I was in my dad's car traveling back to KL from my grandmother's place in Pusing, Perak. It was a journey which cut through vast expands of paddy fields in the state of Perak. But against the backdrop of rural tranquility, the high tension cable towers remains a constant reminder of urbanization.
The town of Pusing is indeed a nice place and is populated mainly by the Hakkas. Like any other small towns, the people who live there lead relatively simple and laidback lives. Most of the womenfolk, my grandmother included, used to work as dulang washers back in the days when there were many operating tin mines in Perak. You can see more of Lyn's work and profile here. You can read more about Pusing in the Wikipedia entry here. |
