sabm-jointcsWE, the undersigned civil society groups, condemn in the strongest sense the denial of electoral reform activist cum political scientist Dr Wong Chin Huat’s entry into Sarawak last Friday.

It is a blatant abuse of immigration power and an insult to Sarawak’s 18-Point Agreement upon the formation of Malaysia by the Sarawak’s caretaker Chief Minister Taib Mahmud.

This and the earlier barring of native rights activist Steven Ng, on the April 3, must be challenged legally in the court. We support fully such legal action, which is now being prepared, to protect Malaysians from violation of fundamental human rights and abuse of federalism.

Wong, Ng and others who have been barred earlier like Dr Kua Kia Soong, MP Sivarasa Rasiah, Cynthia Gabriel and Tan Seng Hin, have all been served a simple notice citing Sub-section 65(1)(a) of the Immigration Act which only states that the State Government has instructed the Director of Immigration Sarawak to deny their entry, without giving any reason.

Caretaker CM Taib Mahmud has shown complete contempt of the Section 67 of the Immigration Act which specifically provides for a citizen’s right of “entering the East Malaysian State for the sole purpose of engaging in legitimate political activity”.

Dr Wong’s trip to Sarawak was to observe the state elections and convey to the Sarawakian electorate two important messages: (a) that some 200,000 Sarawakians living outside Sarawak should have the right to vote via postal ballots – a demand which has been ignored by the Election Commission; (b) that bribery in elections is an criminal offence which may bring the maximum penalty of 2 years in imprisonment and a fine of RM 5,000, and provides no exemption for government officials.

We urge the Sarawakian electorate to hold accountable Caretaker CM Taib Mahmud on denying the entry of Wong, Ng, Kua, Rasiah, Gabriel, Tan and the likes. Is Wong’s advocacy of franchise for Sarawakians and against bribery illegitimate in the eyes of Taib Mahmud?

The Sarawakian electorate should condemn Taib’s abuse of power, which has damaged Sarawak’s legitimacy in maintaining its immigration control. This power was meant in the 18-point agreement to protect Sarawak from undesirable transmigration from West Malaysia and Sabah.

Taib arrested, with family members, Jabu, Chan, Tengah, Nassar, Masing, Sepawie etc, facing corruption charges.

This is a headline you’ll see one day. It is a matter of ‘When’ not ‘if’. If you are not convinced read this:
http://www.rttnews.com/Content/GeneralNews.aspx?Id=1620070&SM=1
A court in Egypt…sentenced former Tourism Minister Zuhair Garranah to five years in prison on charges of corruption…..Earlier this month, Interior Minister Habib al-Adly was sentenced to 12 years in jail over corruption….Currently, more than a dozen former Ministers and businessmen with links to the Mubarak regime are facing investigations over a number of allegations…… both Nazif and Adly are being held under detention in Tora prison on Cairo's outskirts. Mubarak's sons, Gamal and Alaa, are also being held at the same prison…… Mubarak himself is currently under detention at a hospital…he suffered a heart attack while being questioned by prosecutors

I call on all the Sarawakian natives, etc, wake up now, you have been deceived & impoverished for decades – almost 50 years! Drowned in Gov’t controlled media, little do you know how rich your country is. Foreign experts reported Malaysia’s illegal outflow of funds in 8 years at RM880 billion = RM$880,000,000,000.

Mahathir, have you compared your achievements to Lee Kuan Yew’s? Your son is Director of 200 companies…..Shut your big mouth now. You are a racist disgrace. From a distance here we see things oh so neutrally and clearly. We in NZ are often ranked No 1 for democracy, transparency and non-corruption. By our ‘spotless’ standard, you would have been in prison too. Najib is heading in that direction, talking like a car salesman: “You help put BN in Sibu, I help you… RM..millions…”

“Umno, we voted you into power, you enjoy plundering & prosperity then turn around & repress & torture us – your people”

Now PM Najib, Home Minister Hishamuddin, Sarawak’s Taib Mahmud are all experts in deception & twisting of facts, just like those leaders & ex-leaders of Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria, North Korea, Burma.

They cheated & rigged elections & when we have peaceful rally they say we want to cause chaos, and tarnish Malaysia’s image. Image was tarnished long ago by those politicians walking in Putrajaya and Kuching….

They spend all their time politicking, back-stabbing fabricating crimes blamed on the Opposition….They are not leading, progressing (like Singapore) and not doing Malaysia any good at all.

They excel in purchases & projects running in billions. The bigger the more kick-backs & thefts. Corruption is Crime.

The French military/submarine deal (which Malaysia needs the least) paid over RM300million in kick-backs resulting in the Mongolian Lady's threat to expose & her subsequent blasted death. Likewise Ross Boyert, Taib’s former Aide in USA & murdered Swiss Activist Bruno Mansur

The undisclosed outflow of funds from Malaysia in 8 years was RM880 billion (not million).

Since the days of Taib’s Uncle Yakub, tens of millions of acres of forest/logging concessions have been awarded to families & cronies, without open transparent public tenders to return wealth to the poor people. Sarawak’s total value of logs & timber products hovered around RM6 to10 billion annually. Oil Palm is surpassing that mark now. It’s not just timber & oil palm in Sarawak, almost everything under the sun….too many to mention.. This is Hell of a plunder, and that’s just in one state among 13.

Their racial discrimination is TOTAL! In USA a minority race ascended the Obama Presidency. An Indian or Chinese deserves to be a Malaysian PM too. Petronas is 99% Malay. So are thousands of other national assets. Everyone is a citizen entitled to the Nation’s wealth.

Let's quote Soros: "Look at the Sarawak Chief Minister selling billions worth of timber concessions under the table; selling every piece of state land to businessmen without tender; using his own companies to obtain lucrative government contracts; ....'you pay I approve'. He has 8 billion US stashed overseas.....He is selling sand near the beaches to one company for earth filling and then ask the government to spend millions to protect the coastline when erosion occurs.
He lost 300 million of ...government money trying to make computer chips. He has built a port in Northern Sarawak...water so shallow it needs dredging every year. The Prime Minister built highways without tender, your cronies get the deal and the price double. Your Langkawi airport runway was built double the cost by....Ekran.
In China people have been shot for embezzling $1000.With 8 billion you have stolen, therefore you would be shot 80 thousand times. Now you are leading an anti-corruption campaign. We all know what you should do. Look yourself in the mirror. "

Thousands of acres of land are sold to companies for plantations while the natives do not have even one acre to their name. He is selling sand near the beaches to one company for earth filling and then ask the government to spend millions to protect the coastline when erosion occurs.
